How To Make $600+ Cleaning Roofs + Gutters

How To Earn $600+ a Day Cleaning Roofs + Gutters

Let me first start off with saying “Yes it is possible to make $600+ a day sweeping off roof debris and clearing out gutters!”

If you are considering starting a business in the home service industry know that you can do it. Maybe you have some skills and some know how to figure things out.

When doing a roof sweep it’s not a very complicated process. You get a broom set up on an extension pole. Grab a used backpack blower for a more reasonable price when tight on funds such as at a Habitat for Humanity store.

A few basic tools can be used to sweep debris off a roof

There are ways you can keep cost down for yourself you don’t need to buy a ton of expensive equipment to get started. You could start off with a broom and an extension pole. You don’t even really need a blower to get started.

Roof Sweep Equipment

  • Extension Ladder w/Leg Levelers
  • Stand Offs (Stabilizers)
  • Blower (not required)
  • Extension Poles
  • Brooms

To sweep a roof, simply pull all the debris off the roof down onto a tarp and put it in a bucket. Then dispose of it where the homeowner wants it disposed of and charge them accordingly.

On the job featured in the above video, I’m charging $300 plus sales tax and it took approximately 3 hours to finish working slowly and carefully. Once that job was finished, I went to a second one for $300 in the afternoon. That’s a total of $600 in one day for around 5 hours of actual work (not including travel time to and from the jobs).

As you can see, over time you can really start to generate some nice income as long as you’re not afraid of doing some physical work. Yes, there’s always some risk working on ladders, but you will be okay as long as you work slowly and carefully on ladders.

As you get more familiar with working with ladders, developing your skill, adding more value to your customers, being professional, and respectful you will build a decent base of regular repeat customers that keep you coming back each year.

They’ll be happy to spend $100’s and even $1000’s to have you back every year as long as you continue delivering exceptional service and professionalism.

I recently had a post-construction window cleaning contract for a townhouse complex of 4 buildings that was over $4000 and I was able to complete the project in 2 weeks.

If you’re just getting going, for not a lot of money up front you can get an extension pole, the right kind of brush that will pull debris off the roof, a backpack blower, and a ladder with stabilizers.

With roof cleaning you can easily make $500 – $600 a day doing 2 small jobs as long as you’re strong, in shape, and can work safely on ladders.

Wishing you well in your goals to build a service business. Now go get em!
