A Secret to Create Abundance in Your Life and Business

Well it’s not really a secret because you’ve probably heard it before. Yet it’s such a simple thing to do that we sometimes forget to do it. What is this “secret” to creating more good in my life and business?  It is…

Gratitude

When you are grateful, your perspective changes.  You begin to see the good in situations, rather than focusing on the negative.  You feel better overall when you are grateful.  Life can get easier because of a grateful attitude.

This doesn’t mean that you won’t still experience challenges and negative events in your life and/or business.  It does mean that you can face any challenging situation a lot better when you are gratefully looking for the positive in the situation.

If you can make a habit of saying “thank you” in all situations whether you perceive them to be good or bad, you can create a positive ripple in your life which can positively affect all areas of your life including your business.  This is the “secret” to creating abundance in your life and business that many of us forget to do because we sometimes get caught up in negative habitual thinking.

Make Gratitude a Daily Habit

For many, it is more natural for us to gravitate toward seeing the negative and feeling and thinking negatively as a result.  What if we were to catch ourselves if we are focusing on the negative?  Then we could make a conscious effort to find at least 3 positive things about whatever it is we are viewing negatively.

This does not come naturally for most of us.  Yet we can work at finding reasons to be grateful in any situation if we put forth a little effort to see the positive in any situation.  This will pay off greatly in your life long term.  Even short term it could change your day today by simply finding three things you are genuinely thankful for right now.

Why not do that right now?  What are 3 things you are thankful for?

Three things I am thankful for today are:

  1. My body is in pretty good health
  2. I have everything I need in this moment
  3. Spring is here

If you did this exercise (depending on your state right now) you may have found it a little tough or fairly easy to come up with three things to be thankful for.  My mind was focusing on all kinds of things I don’t like because my state is a little negative this morning.  After doing this exercise, I do feel a little better now.

This is something you can practice daily to experience a better state of being.  There’s no limit to how many things, people, experiences, etc you can continue to be thankful for.

If you find yourself in a negative state, ask yourself: What are 3 things I am grateful for?  You don’t have to stop at three.  You could keep saying thank you in your mind for everything you face in your day to experience a positive shift in your life and business.

Suggestions

To really make a positive shift in your life and business, you could do a 30-day challenge where you say “thank you” multiple times every single day for 30 consecutive days.  You could say it out loud or quietly in your mind.  If you actually try this out, you may be pleasantly amazed with the results you experience.

If you ever have a hard time finding things to be grateful for here is a list of suggestions you could say thank you for:

  • God
  • My life
  • This day
  • This meal
  • My clothing
  • My home
  • My family
  • My friends
  • A treasured possession
  • The sunshine
  • The beauty of nature
  • My animal friends
  • A pet
  • My automobile
  • Public transit
  • That I have what I need
  • That I am more then enough to meet any challenge I may face

  • The “bad things” I have experienced in my life because they have helped me to look for the good in every situation
  • Blue skies

Practicing gratitude should be a daily habit. I think sometimes when things do not go our away, we tend to focus on the things we don’t have instead of the things we do have. Thanks for the great post!
