How to Develop a More Pleasant Personality

Life is like a boomerang. What you give out is what you tend to receive. So you can ask yourself: What am I giving out in my interactions with other people?

Most of us are not happy, joyful or positive all of the time. Depending on what we have been thru in life, some of us may have a harder time smiling and being genuinely friendly in our interactions with people.

This is a key secret to success in business and in life because it’s who you are that people hire. Whether you’re looking for a job as an employee or starting your own business, developing a more pleasant personality is a huge advantage to have in the workplace. Know that it is possible to work at becoming the kind of person people would love to do business with.

You may naturally be a genuinely friendly, kind, respectful and service oriented person. If this doesn’t come naturally to you, know that you can learn to develop a more pleasing personality.

I don’t mean allowing people to walk all over you or being a push over. Self respect is crucial to building relationships with others, since our outer relationships with others are a reflection of our inner relationship with our self.

A few suggestions for developing a more pleasing personality might include:
– reading books in the personal development category (self help)
– listening to audiobooks
– attending seminars and events like the Abundant Living Retreat hosted by Eric Plantenberg in Palm Springs (visit abundantliving.com for more info)
– doing The Work of Byron Katie (visit thework.com for more info) to resolve inner conflicts
– learn to respect, love and accept your self. (as within, so without)
– do ask. don’t demand.
– practice gratitude daily
– applying the positive suggestions you have learned in your everyday life and interactions with people

Developing a pleasant personality may come easy to some and it may require a little more effort for others. We can all work at this no matter who we are or where we’ve been. As you continue to work at this, bit by bit, you will begin to notice positive results occurring more frequently.

If you are struggling with being a more positive person due to inner conflicts and maybe even struggle with anger or depression like I have in the past, I’d highly recommend implementing one or two of the suggestions above. If you only do one, definitely visit thework.com to learn how to resolve inner conflicts that may be holding you back from success in life.

The picture above, is it in Palm Springs? It looks familiar. Well, I believe what you give out is what you get back. It works in everything you do. I try to always use that practice in life.
